About Taegan

Hello, I am an industrial design student at the University of Cincinnati.

Through volunteering at my church as a small group leader and a special needs aide, I developed a passion for designing products and solutions for people with   disabilities. I'm interested in anything hands on. Currently I am looking into furniture and household product design focusing on multifunctional forms, but at the end of the day, my goal is to help others and make things.

Outside of classes and work, I can often be found in the ceramics studio, reading books, playing card games, or out on the water with the rowing team.

Co-op Experience

For my first co-op I worked at the University Makerspace in the prototyping lab. It was here that I learned about and became much more comfortable with laser cutters, 3D printing and slicing (FDM and SLA), CNC, sewing, powder coating, mold making, 3D scanning, and vacuum forming.

For my second co-op I did an independent study. With my parents as my clients, I designed and built a coffee table for their living room. I also took this semester to go to workshops, earn software certifications, and just try lots of new things. Some of these are highlighted in the "Other Works" category of my portfolio

My third co-op was at S.P.A a TRG company in Milford Ohio. They specialize in corrugated displays similar to the ones you'll see in grocery stores across the country. Here, I learned how to use the software Artios and made nets and components that would be assembled into shelving units. One of my displays for Duke Cannon will be in Target stores Christmas 2024.
